The government is preparing to test a brand new system that will alert citizens to a nearby 'danger to life'.
Virtually all phones connected to a 4G or 5G network on Sunday, 23rd April, will make a loud 'siren-like' noise for a proximately 10 seconds, once the test has been triggered.
The government says that the system will be used in the future by emergency services, government departments, and agencies to warn of severe flooding, fires and extreme weather events.
