What's happening in Selby today...

The Met Office have issued a 'Yellow' weather warning for thunderstorms.

The area affected by the warning is pretty broad - stretching from Hartlepool in the north to Peterborough in the south, Hull in the east and stretching well into Wales.

It's difficult to predict where the storms will hit, but where they do, there could be some disruption. Expect:

• Flooding.
• Delays on roads and to rail services.
• Short term power loss.
• Damage to trees and buildings.

If you find yourself outside and hear thunder, protect yourself by finding a safe enclosed shelter (such as a car). Do not shelter under or near trees, or other structures which may be struck by lightning.

The warning is in force until 21:00 tonight.

A dirt bike has been stolen from a home in Sherburn - NYP are investigating.

We have a 21° start to the day, this morning, after a sticky night.

It's going to be cooler than yesterday, but still pretty hot with highs of 29°, peaking around 4pm. There's a chance of a little bit of light rain into the evening - isolated thunder storms possible, but hard to predict.

Police in Tadcaster are looking for information to track down an individual over allegations of indecent exposure.

Incident happened yesterday tea-time.

Police investigating the 10 cars found set alight in woods at Brotherton yesterday have said the owners of the damaged vehicles are yet to come forward. 

They have asked for anyone who thinks their car has been damaged in the incident to get in touh by calling 101 and reference 12260153832.

Sherburn Police are investigating after 10 vehicles were set on fire in a woodland at Brotherton.
